First Look at the X-4 Stormwing Plane

The X-4 Storming Plane is introduced into Fortnite Battle Royale during Season 7. It is a flyable aircraft, allowing you to traverse the map in the air. Not only can you fly around, you are also able to fire at opponents using the X-4 Storming Plane, as well as fire at opponents on the ground. This is a first look at the new aircraft!

Flying and Controls

You enter the X-4 Storming Plane by approaching it close enough and pressing your E button. After entering it, press your W button to spin the motor and take off. At this point, you should not be pressing your W button at all. Once you are in the air, you will use a different set of controls to control your aircraft.

By default, your Left Control button will allow you to switch seats. The two buttons you will often use are Space and Left Shift. The first one will allow you to use a boost for a short amount of time, speeding up your aircraft. The latter will use your airbrakes, allowing you to slow down significantly.

Next to that, you will also want to be maneuverable. Using your C button, you can roll to the right, while using your Z button will allow you to roll to the left. This is very useful for when you need to quickly turn around, or when you want to shake off an enemy aircraft. Lastly, the X button will allow you to roll invert, turning your aircraft upside down.

Free Look and Shooting

Sometimes, you are also going to want to check out the area around and underneath you, without actually moving your mouse, and thus moving your aircraft. The Free Look feature is perfect for such moments. You can freely look around, without actually moving your aircraft, by holding down your Right Mouse Button.

Lastly, and probably most importantly, you are also going to want to be able to shoot your opponents. You can do so by tapping, or holding down, your Left Mouse Button. However, something to keep in mind is that the machine gun in the X-4 Stormwing Plane overheats rather quickly. Fire your gun in bursts to avoid overheating it, and becoming vulnerable to enemy fire.
